Rosa y Azucena is a musical and literary work that fuses classical poetry with contemporary sensibility, integrating verses by Garcilaso de la Vega with original lyrics inspired by carpe diem, love, and fleeting beauty. The production blends Catalan rumba with flamenco roots, Middle Eastern melodies, and hints of traditional Indian music in an intimate, cinematic atmosphere. The arrangement leans on nylon‑string flamenco guitars, bandurria, and lute, alongside Arabic instruments such as oud, qanun, ney, and an oriental violin, reinforced by organic percussion (cajón, soft palmas, castanets, tambourine, riqq, darbuka, daf) and expressive details like lyrical trumpet solos.
